  If you'd asked me five years ago what I thought of this place I'd say it was great. 5 out of 5. After these last couple of months I have to say I'm very disappointed. I first came to janisse when I was twenty and they did an amazing job on my teeth. Never had a problem. Janisse was friendly and the staff was great. Over the last couple of months however I feel like I've been treated very poorly. I have a bottom retainer implant on my lower teeth and the wire came off one of them. I was told when this happens, five years ago, to call right away and they'll fix it immediately with no charge. When I called they said it would be over a week before they could see me and that my teeth wouldn't move. The girl at reception gave me a date and I scheduled time off work so I could come in. When I came in however they had given me a wrong date and said it wouldn't be until the following week that they could see me. I took it as my mistake as a benefit of the doubt and asked if there was anything they could do for me that day. The receptionist said they were too busy at that moment. Which was odd to me considering the waiting room only had two people in it. I then said if there was anything I could do and that I was worried cause at this point the tooth had started to move. The receptionist responded with a sarcastic comment saying "I can give you some gauze." She then laughed. I left totally upset. The next week I came in and they fixed it. Only took them five minutes to attach it and janisse even said that my teeth had moved. In the end I lost money both days that I had to come in and take time off from work. Plus the money I spent to have my braces on originally I felt was thrown away as well. My top retainer is also starting to fall apart but they didn't raise any concern about it. The story didn't end there sadly. When I was in I pointed out that I felt my one tooth was about to come off from the wire as well and they said it was fine. I took their word on it and went home. Just yesterday I was flossing my teeth and sure enough it broke off. I called janisse and they once again said it would be at least two weeks until they could see me. I called around and I spoke to a few other orthodontists in the city and they all said that when the bottom retainer comes off that it's an important matter and that it should be solved right away. One orthodontist even got onto the phone with me and told me to try at my hardest to get it done that day before my teeth went out of line. He offered to see me but his price was $180 and I can't afford it cause I don't have dental and I support both myself and my mom. He then said to try and talk to janisse again and see what they could do. I did just that and janisse receptionist said that all of a sudden they had an opening for next week. I still wasn't content after hearing what everyone else said to me. I called around again and I finally contacted a place that would do it for $80 that day. I went in and the dentist fixed me up in about three minutes. In the end I was still upset over something that I should've had done for free in the first place. I'm not posting this cause I'm mad or to ruin this practices reputation . I'm just disappointed. I used to hold this place in high regard and even referred some of my friends here to have their teeth done. Now I feel like I spent all this money to only in the end feel like once I payed them everything I owed them I was no longer any use to them. I was told long ago that repairs were free. Now I feel that the reason I wasn't squeezed in was because they weren't making any money from me. Which is strange considering how expensive braces are to begin with. I told janisse's receptionist how disappointed I was and if she could let janisse know and call me if he wished to answer any of my concerns. I don't know if she let him know or not but I didn't hear back. I don't like posting this but I feel like everyone should know about my experience if they're going to be coming here. I don't want the same thing happening to them that happened to me.
