  Firstly, I brought my child in due to her getting irritated with her diaper in the middle of the night. Keep in mind that it was only during the night. She would wake up around 2am and scratch for it to come off. However, during the day she was perfectly fine with the diaper being on. This happened for two nights so I decided to schedule an appointment with her pediatrician. I go to the appointment and a student nurse comes into the room first. She asks some routine questions and proceeds to look at my child. My first complaint comes from her touching the private area of my child without washing her hands or placing on gloves. Shortly after Dr. Kazmie comes in and begins asking me the same questions as the nurse yet when she hears I am still breast feeding between 6-10 times a day, she implies I am harming my child. If Dr. Kazmie was in the room while the nurse was asking questions, she would hear that my child eats more than the required 3 meals, 2 snacks a day. I always give her food before I nurse and she is not having full 30 minute nursing sessions, I'm talking a 5 minute drink throughout the day as wanted. Now on the topic of shots, my daughter is not vaccinated and she is roughly 19 months. It's my decision and no where is there a law stating that its mandatory. Dr. Kazmie doesn't take a liking to this AT ALL. Both herself and the nurse begin schooling me on the risk and proceeding to tell me all the horrible diseases and infection she has seen in her lifetime. With my older daughter, I had the same issue. Dr. Kazmie sent me a envelope filled with brochures that explain the benefits of vaccines and when I showed up for the next appointment, she proceeded to vaccinate my daughter without asking if I consented, knowing I refused the last time. Back to the most recent issue, tell me why I get a letter from the local Children Aid Society with claims made from doctor that I missed a follow up appointment for the diaper irritation issue. Dr. Kazmie only advised me to bathe my daughter with baking soda in the water. Which I did do the day after the appointment. The first night I was unable to because our hot water heater broke and we had to shut off the main water supply. However, that night my daughter slept perfectly. The next night though, I did add baking soda and she awoke with the same irritation of the diaper so I stopped mixing in the baking soda and she hasn't had an issue since. Well the Childrens worker advised me of the concern that I missed the appointment. But my daughter was fine and the baking soda treatment was ineffective, and everything was back to normal and recently having surgery myself, I didn't see the value in attending this follow up. Well Dr. Kazmie explained to the worker she thought my daughter had vaginitis. Yet, there was not one single symptom suggesting so. Besides, baking soda wouldn't cure such a diagnosis. She also explained her concern of my breastfeeding to the intake worker but again, my child is between the recommended weight for her age and that was never an expressed concern. Then to top it all off, the issue of vaccinations. Now my daughter is in perfect health, never sick, no underlying medical issue that would make her more susceptible to contracting a disease that is protected by vaccines. Now the worker wants me to follow up with an appointment and vaccinate my daughter. Now for fear of being found neglectful in some way and not looking out for "the textbook version" of the best interest of my child, I will have to vaccinate her and lose all my privacy while my whole family life is viewed under a magnify glass. This doctor is set in her own beliefs and calls childrens aid to get those beliefs implemented and that is wrong. My children will never be seen by her again.
